When TikTok became huge, it was during our first COVID lockdown. This was a time people were sharing their DIY home decor, hacks, and more. Fast forward to present day day, there's no hiding we are in a recession. The creators that are constantly posting their expensive home decor and try on hauls are being dragged in the comments. In order to reach an audience that anyone can relate to, DIY videos are taking off way more than throwing expensive lifestyles in the face of a percentage of people that can't relate.
